Francisco Navarro Lara was born in Bujalance (Cordoba – Spain) in 1969. He studied Orchestral Conducting at Hochschule Fur Musik in Vienna (Austria) and at the Art’s College in La Habana (Cuba), obtaining his degree in Orchestral Conducting with the highest honours as average in his academic record, and undertaking a PhD in Art’s Science (specializing in Orchestral Conducting) with Honourable Mention. He has conducted in Spain, Austria, Denmark, Italy, Japan, Cuba, … as well as prestigious singers such as José Carreras, Montserrat Caballé or Victoria de los Angeles among others, and Orchestras such as the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Osaka Century Orchestra, Danish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, Amadeus Symphony Orchestra, or the Russian International Chamber Orchestra where he was the Head Conductor. He is the author of several publications among which his book “Nueva Técnica de Dirección de Orquesta, Coro y Banda de Música” (Alvarellos Editorial, Lugo 2000) stands out. He has held a Chair in Orchestral Conducting at the Superior Music Conservatory in Malaga, as well as Associated Teacher of Music Therapy at the University of Malaga. He has been Head Conductor of José Tamayo’s Anthology of Zarzuela, with which he has performed in over fifteen countries in Europe, America and Asia. Nowadays, he occupies the position of Head Conductor of the Symphonic Orchestra in Huelva, and he is the Director of the International School of Orchestral and Music Band Conducting, which bears his own name.
