Director

Francisco Navarro Lara was born in Bujalance (Cordoba - Spain) in 1969. He studied Orchestra Conducting at the Hochschule Fur Musik in Vienna (Austria) and at the Instituto Superior de Arte of Havana (Cuba) where he obtained his Degree in Orchestra Conducting Magna Cum Laude. Afterwords, he completed a Doctorate in Fine Arts (Specialisation in Orchestra Conducting) with Honorable Mention.He has conducted orchestras in Spain, Austria, Denmark, Italy, Japan, Cuba, Columbia…, including the Tokyo Philharmonic, the Century Orchestra Osaka, the Danish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Amadeus Symphony Orchestra, the Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra and the Russian International Chamber Orchestra of which he was Chief Director. In addition, he has performed with renowned singers such as José Carreras, Montserrat Caballé and Victoria de Los Ángeles, amongst others. He has authored several publications amongst which one of the most important is his book ‘Nueva Técnica de Dirección de Orquesta, Coro y Banda de Música’ [new technique for the direction of orchestra, chorus and band] '(Editorial Alvarellos Lugo 2000)'.He chaired the faculty of Orchestra Direction at the Conservatorio Superior de Música in Málaga and was Associate Professor of Music therapy at the University of Málaga. He was the Chief Director of José Tamayo’s Antología de la Zarzuela with which he has given concerts in more than fifteen countries througout Europe, America and Asia.As the result of his selection via a Competitive Public Examination, he now holds the position of Principal Conductor of the Municipal Band and the Symphonic Orchestra of Huelva [Spain]. He is also the Director of the ‘Maestro Navarro Lara’ School of Orchestra and Wind Band Conducting, as well as an Honorary Director of the National Symphonic Orchestra of Paraguay.
